Katsuyori of Tosa
We are members in an association of descendants of Katsuyori Takeda who is a successor of Shingen Takeda.
It is said there are no descendants but descendants actually exist.
Katsuyori Takeda, a son of Shingen, invaded Oda territory of Nobunaga Oda, a longtime Shingen's foe, and captured Akechi Castle after capturing as many as 18 branch castles one after another and it is said that he made Takeda stronger than the period of Shingen after he captured even Takatenjin Castle that could not be captured even by Shingen.
He was later betrayed by his generals and he declined after a crushing
defeat by allied forces of Nobunaga Oda and Ieyasu Tokunaga, and escaped
to Tenmokuzan where, it is said that he killed himself together with his
wife and children.
However, he actually switched with body doubles and escaped to Gunma prefecture first and then finally to Tosa in Shikoku where he had many relatives.
Katsuyori Takeda changed his name to Genba Osaki and he fought battles
participating in Hetsugigawa battle to respond to the trust of local ruling
families who welcomed him. Making plans and reentering in the middle of
battlefields, he is said to be a person who defended a major stronghold
called Kiyosu Castle from enemies in the biggest battle, the Battle of
Sekigahara, and ended the Warring States period by ending the battle in
one day.
His strength was overwhelming and it is said even ten big men could not beat him. Also, the presence of his wife was big and he was also superior in his reign by promoting dancing because of Mrs. Hojo's advice (fact is Mrs. Saegusa).
And, Katsuyori (Genba Osaki) who is said to be the best warrior in the Warring States period passed away in 1609. It has been 400 years this year since then.
That is, Takeda family has not been destroyed and a new story of new Takeda
was unveiled by unsealing the content by a Shinto priest (the 25th) of
the shrine that has kept this matter 400 years after Katsuyori's death
now.
All relating to Takeda family such as historic places like tombs, dances without accessories and family tree will be open to the public.
The quatercentenary celebration will be held on August 22 and October
10 this year in 2009.
Descendants of Shingen Takeda and Katsuyori Takeda (Genba Osaki) who have
concealed their identities until now will gather under one roof. Also,
blood relatives will come from Suwa, his mother's land where Katsuyori
was born.
His mother is said to have been an incredibly beautiful woman of the best in Shinano and she is a woman with whom Shingen fell in love. |
